Course Description:
This one day PHECC/IHF approved course equips the student with the necessary knowledge and skill to be able to recognise and treat the 4 major life threatening conditions as listed below:
1. Heart attack
2. Cardiac arrest
3. FBAO/Choking
4. Stroke
Each student will undergo intensive training on the recognition of a heart attack and the administration of Aspirin, how to perform CPR and use an AED. There will also be a strong emphasis on the relief of choking in both a conscious and an unconscious casualty. Stroke recognition and the FAST principle are also discussed in detail.
Upon completion of the course each student will undergo a written examination and will be issued a PHECC/IHF CFR course completion card that is valid for 2 years in addition to a heart saver AED card.
